Time to blog?

Have enjoyed the introduction to blogging. It seems to me it takes alot of time. Perhaps more than I am willing to invest right now. Fortunately, I have some ideas of some employees who would probably be better at it than I would. My family has questioned the idea of having a website for family communication, but it looks to me like what would work better would be a blog.
